STEP 3

CHOOSE A LANDSCAPER
Once you have a plan in place you will be able to approach a few landscaping companies and ask for a quotation.
It is at this stage where the time and money invested in establishing a plan will pay off because you are now able to directly compare prices and the services offered by each company. ’Verbal plans’ are too open to interpretation and don’t allow this direct comparison. What you thought you might be getting may be worlds away from what is being offered.

STEP 4
FOLLOW UP

Consider the quotation that you receive as a kind of advertisement from the landscaper. If he is not prepared to give an itemized list of the products and services on offer then it may be time to look elsewhere.
Now is also the time to contact his former clients. Be extremely cautious if he is unwilling or unable to provide a few names and phone numbers.
Photos are also another excellent way to view past work and also give an indication of the skill level involved.

STEP 5
TIME FRAMES
When you have made the decision to go ahead with a project naturally you may like it done as soon as possible.
Establishing a time frame for the commencement and completion of work from your landscaper can be a tricky one. Having a back log of months and months of work doesn’t mean that he is a good or sought after landscaper. He may just be a poor time or man manager. Be sure that when he is going to start work at your home that he will concentrate on that job to completion.
